I know a family in which have struggled harshly through life. I know most families in America do struggle but this family caught my eye. The mother, fauther, daughter, two sons all live strange lives. The daughter seems to be jumping from bf to bf, gettings engaged and dumping the guy. Mom always meddles in the relationships of her daughter. Father cheats on mother while he is away, at home he shows a different character..one of kindness and easy going, but far from that. He is a liar, a cheater and selfish. The two sons, one son is strugging with his mariage, custody of his daughter, and cant seem to fly straight, no alcohol or drugs involved, his life is just rocky. the youngest one, always looking thoughtful, not to much to say, handsome and refined. He sits alone, seems to be pondering about life and its chaos. Hasnt had a gf in years, and lost friends due to their lack of respect. Alone he sits and plays music in his head and dreams, but can never make up his mind. Cursed?

Not at all cursed. Maybe a little dysfunctional, but these days that is more normal than "normal", if you know what I mean. Even with struggles, each family member has a choice of which direction his or her life goes. Except for the family chaos, the youngest one sounds a bit like my son. No gf for quite awhile, his friends disappoint him with their lack of morals and so he feels like such a loner. Always has somewhat. So he loses himself in his 2 jobs and his college classes for now. But he is constantly thinking and pondering about life and looking forward to the day when it all comes together for him. And it will. Having the patience to wait until it happens is sometimes tricky, but I know it will.

No,Not cursed just people who unfortunately lack those qualities one needs to be happy in life. Look at the way the parents are and how their lack of values, priciples, character are reflected in their children and more than likely their parents were the same-vicious circle of dysfunctional family. It is unfortunate for today with the Media / TV.Written Media-magazines ,newspapers etc and now the WEb/Internet People can see how people who are healthy in mind/soul live and once they see can seek help and if money is tight for Private Therapy can be costly can always call their County Community Service Centr-found in the blue pages1-County2.Community Service Center-----offer therapy and medications and family/individual life skills counseling on a sliding fee scale -pay what you can afford even nothing but must show proof of income. One can improve oneself but the desire to do so must be there. The daughter is obviously scared of marriage and that the man end up like her father-needs counseling so she will learn to avoid getting involved in bad choice men and also how to get her mom to stop meddling but still have as Mom. The one son strugling with marriage had no male figure besides bad character of his father to learn copy from and these are disastrous for a healthy marriage. The youngest seems to be the one that could be saved still if he sought help-all the children could, for seems too scared by seeing what his father and mother's lives are like-to enter into any relationship and does not have the socialization skills to keep friends-not much substance. Wish them all well and that somehow they get the counseling/help they need.

not cursed - dysfunctional. There's not much about what you've described that I haven't seen in several kids families through out my life. Usually involves alcohol, but not always - if dad is cheating, then there is obviously an underlying lack of respect within the core foundation of the family. Its amazing how - even when not overt - easily that consumes the entire family without them even realizing it.

Sounds like the leaders of the family are out of control, which gets passed on to the children.

Cursed = an evil that has been invoked upon one.

Out of control = No longer under management, direction, or regulation; unmanageable or unruly.

We are all on our own journeys. I come from a family of 6 kids and it's amazaing that we all turned out so differently, going such diverse paths.

We think we came from the same environment, but the people in our lives were in fact different: different teachers to inspire us, different friends to influence us, different current events, etc. And of course, girls are treated differently than boys period.

Also, life has ups and downs. One sibling who may be down now, may be up and up for many years.

Don't compare siblings. Mariah Carey is successful, but her sister is a crack whore. Spike Lee is successful, but his brother is dirt poor and trying to sue him. 1,000's more examples.

Siblings share a journey - part of a journey really, but at some point everyone walks their own path.
