Hey, my eyes have been really dry for a week and they burn when i try to sleep (which usually takes me about an hour to actually get to sleep) , and while me and my mom were driving I mentioned it to her that we should get something for it at the store, but she refused because she didn't want to get out of the car into the cold for like 10 seconds...thats the only reason. So isn't it selfish if she makes me struggle to get to sleep while my eyes burn just so she doesn't have to walk in the cold for 10 seconds?

Thank you! The only real reason I asked this question is because she doesn't believe what she did was selfish, so I needed to show her this.

Yes. You should have reminded her that if she could bear being in labour for however long she was with you, then she could stand a little cold for 10 seconds to get something to soothe your eyes.

I'm a mom. I would have definitely took the time to stop at the store, get out and buy something for my son or daughter. My kids are age 17 and 20 and I'd STILL do it. Yeah, I'd say your mom was being a little selfish. Hope she makes it up to you.

The only reason you asked the question on the web was so you could prove to her that she was selfish? How old are you? Or rather how young are you? You sound like a pre-teen or teenager who is whining because you didn't get your way. What else did your mother have to do that day? What had she already done for you? What had you done for her? Did she provide food for you? Did she wash your clothes? Did she take to and from school or sports or club meetings? WHAT DID YOU DO FOR HER? I think that YOU are the whiny selfish one.
GROW UP! Think about someone else for a change.

YES that is incredibly selfish of her to make you suffer so she doesnt have to get cold, as a mother your responsibility is to care for your children no matter what and as being a mother myself i would suffer anything just so that my daughter didnt have to suffer that is what a real mom does. i am very sorry to hear that your mother isnt as caring as she should none the less i am sure she loves you very much and was just having a selfish moment . hope your eyes get to feeling better and you get some good sleep.

Well selfish yes, but more lazy I think.

For some reason I guess she doesn't believe that your eyes are really bothering you, or she is just too lazy to stop and do something about it.

But you are right, if you need something like that, she should get it for you.

I think it is quite selfish as people can be very selfish your mom should definitely let you go to the store.

Besides she could have waited in the car right?

Your eyes are extremely important. Please make an appt. with your optomotrist asap to find out what is causing it. Then do according to what he/she says to do. Your mom should have stopped by a store to let you get some eye drops or something to help you till you see the dr. Take care.

That is sad. If I had to I would walk ten blocks in the snow to get something for my kids.

Do you know anyone else that could take you?

Good luck!
