I checked it out Free Spirit. It is new, innovative and free inquiring which I think is great, but that does not mean it is true. I see nothing wrong with going over the bible and evaluating old approaches to doctrine formulation for oneself, I do it all the time concerning the trinity ,atonement, and justification. The way I see it , as long as your theology doen not contradict scripture or lead to unholy living then you have some freedom in Christ. After all if you search through Christian History there have been various and divergent theories of the trinity ,atonement and other things, which were in my view somewhat understandable. When councils were formed and everyone was told they could not think a certain way or draw their own rational conclusions from scripture,the church was divided. As long as various theories were based on scripture and didn't lead to unholy living I don't see how you can really deny people their freedom to explain it as best they could for that is all the Bishops and theologians did, explain it as best they could. I would not therefore say evangelical are wrong or in error because that can just as easily be said about you, that is too easy, but what is not easy is to forbear, to love and to extend charity. That is where a mans true learning is seen and known, knowledge' puffeth up' ' love edifieth'. So you are free to think and explore and revisit and try to help the body, that is ok as long as you are devoted to the only Christ, and do not do it to serve the world and its lusts to exchange the truth for a lie.
I would recommend that you change the name to something more humble and charitable, like a new perspective on the atonement or why I think that the Orthodox view of the atonement is superior to our current one.

Just a few thoughts for you. I see a definition of Evangelicalism that is narrower than it should be. There is more than a sufficient base in the evangelical community that recognizes that the Bible has figurative language in it and will interpret those passages as such. Also, it seems as I read that you view the work of Jesus on the cross as God's Plan B. God's plan did not fail, causing Him to then adjust and say to His Son, "Sorry, but since the first idea did not work, I'm going to need you down there."

People make spirituality so complicated. If God loves us and has truly given us the opportunity to join him in the here after, then surly he has provided every living man woman and child with salvation. Not all are able to hear the Christian message, so he damns much of the population from birth.
Read my 360 for the truer message.

Your blog was interesting to read and well thought out but it refutes the whole premise of the Christian faith. John 3:16
Yes God is by nature loving and forgiving but he is also just. Your view of God does not allow for justice and thus would create chaos as we could do whatever we wanted whenever without a second thought because in your view God would just forgive us without repentance (turning away from our sin)
Overall I believe you have twisted the Gospel to suit yourself. But by the look of it you had good intentions. Keep seeking and you will find.

I think you miss the boat on several accounts;

1. Blood atonement began in the Garden of Eden. Remember that the fig leaves were insufficient to cover Adam and Eve. So God killed one of His innocent creatures to cover the guilty Adam and Eve.which gave them a robe of innocence.

2. What happened to the command of GO YE INTO ALL THE WORLD

My thoughts are you should have posted a brief encapsulation of your thesis rather than asking people to go read your ramblings elsewhere.

It is apparent to me, from reading that, and I did read it, that you don't have a good understanding of who God is. God is love, yes, but He is also good, and just. The just judge of the world. And because He is good and just, He must, by nature, punish sin.
