To make it a meaningful study you need to define groceries. I spend about $600 but that includes all of our families supplies including pet food and the occasional DVD purchase.

Depends on where you are. Milk can be as high as $5 a gallon in some places. Try this link below, this lady has already researched how to feed a family very inexpensively, and has info from the USDA to compare with it.
