You can purchase a home-bleaching kit. Non-ammonia is recommended. If you're looking for home-made lighteners, try lemon juice or chammomile.

you can actually take pure peroxide to your hair and it will lighten it. I don't reccomend this as it is very harsh, can strip your hair and make it very dry and "straw" like, resulting in friz.
