Have you ever known two people who YOU KNEW FOR A FACT liked one another, but for some reason, one of them refused to go out with the other because of popularity issues? Well that's what's going on with my friend. She and this guy had BOTH liked each other 2 years ago, and they admitted it, so they were "sort of" going out in an awkward way. It was a really big thing, since he was like the most popular guy in school, and she was a little bit of a nerd (not being mean, cuz of course that would make me a nerd too) and they never looked so much like the couple type. But that's no one's opinion but their own. But the point is, should she still like him now, two years later, after he kind of ignored her for a whole year, and then continue to avoid the subject? Is it fair? Does the situation make him sort of a jerk? Is she doing the right thing by continuing the way she is? I NEED ANSWERS. I don't want to be responsible for her getting hurt! help?

He isjust not that into her and she CAN DO BETTER. Relationship have to be a two way street where both parties are working together to maintain it. Both parties need to want the same things or are prepared to allow the party to grow as an individual with acceptance. Him being indifferent for one year says it all. You are her good friend so help her get out and meet other people. YES he is a jerk but maybe he is doing her a favour and limiting her hurt.

Good luck but you cant be responsible for her life but you can be a help and support to her.

take care and remember relationships are a learning curve and we grow as individuals from these experiences both good and bad.

Ok, calm down. First of all, no, she shouldn't like the guy because he seems to be jerk to her, but if she does still like him after that, well, that's normal. I suggest that you support her no matter what her decision is. If she decides to pursue another relationship with this guy, then so be it, but don't be unsupportive, and if things don't work out, don't give her the 'I told you so...' speech. If she decides not to pursue a relationship with this guy then good for her. There's not much you can do. Unless you can change the way that she feels about this guy, you're kind of left helpless.I know that it's hard to just stand by and let her get hurt, but sometimes you have to let her make her own mistakes and learn from them. Just stick with her through what ever she decides and let her know that you're there for her no matter what .

Good Luck!

If he has ignored her for a year then yes, he is a jerk. He obviously never liked her enough to be seen w her. She should do herself a favor and forget him.

If he ignores her because she's not cool no that's totally wrong. You should like people by who they are not how popular they are.

No, he ignored her. She should leave it alone. If his 'status' meant more than him than her, he's not what she needs.
