I think Bayside or Whitestone. Nice apartments. By the bridges and the express bus. Both negihborhoods close to Connecticut and New Jersey.

As I was born and raised in Queens, I have to admit to a bit of favoritism!

I live in Whitestone now, in the Beechhurst section, a great area with nice apartment buildings and homes and, one of the most important things in Queens, no alternate side of the street parking rules (no having to move your car from one side to the other on certain days). Makes having a car so much easier. But we also have the Express Bus which takes you right into Manhattan. Whitestone is also very centrally located.

The same holds true for Bayside, equally as nice, again with very good neighborhoods, shops, restaurants and the Express Bus. .

Douglaston and Little Neck are also good areas.

If you want something a little more "city like," Astoria is kind of a cool place to live. While the actual neighborhoods are not quite as nice, everything is right out your front door, including the N Train, which gets you to Lexington Avenue in about half hour.
But you do face that dreaded alternate side of the street parking.
I used to have to come home early Sunday night to get a Tuesday parking space - kind of a pain- or else you have to pay for a garage if you can get one. Rent in Astoria isn't cheap, but it's cheaper than Whitestone or Bayside generally.

Come to Queens- it's a great place to live!

Queens is New York's best kept secret. It's a great place, full of fascinating people from all over the world. Where to live depends on what you like and what you can afford. One of my favorite areas is Briarwood, just north of Jamaica and south of Flushing Meadows Corona Park. It's quiet and clean, with excellent access to transportation.

Honestly Queenz is a pretty much a Ghetto town.... NO OFFENSE! Stay safe and find a nice cozy home with family and friends and I would consider yourself the SAFEST you can be... in QUEENZ anyway! I went to visit one of my good friends there and the place I went was an eyesore.... maybe not all neigborhoods though, i dont know.
