MTX affects your liver similarly to alcohol. If you do drink it needs to be in extreme moderation. I am on MTX and i have like 1-2 drinks every few months... and i get sloshed about once a year. All of my blood tests have been normal so i dont worry too much about it. ( i stopped drinking for the most pat due to how i feel like a train wreck for 3 days afterwards, but prtly due to meds)

Many of my friends on MTX drink in moderation also, like a glass of wine with dinner a couple times a week, as long as blood tests are normal and no elevated liver enzymes.

i would speak to your doc i you are concerned, but as long as the blood tests are ok, have a drink or 2... dont overdo it.
