All of the Abrahamic religions (Christianity, Judaism, Islam) have the implied assumption that the universe is platonic dualistic as opposed to monistic.

However, modern science doesn't seem to take the 'soul hypothesis' very seriously and works with the model that ALL mental activity is merely a very complex electro-chemical reaction taking place in a physical brain.

Has anybody ever, say, captured a free-floating soul in a bottle? Ever photograph an angel or demon?

Your base argument is flawed.
abrahamic freligions are not platonic.
And they definitely are not dualistic.

1. Religions aren't dualistic, they are monistic. Matter is created by God, the spirit.

2.Your last question contains an inner contradiction, if one could "capture" them or "see" them, then they would have to be made of matter.

You don't really *see* our thoughts, do you?

As for what science suggests, science works with nature. There is simply no place for soul in scientific theories, what only goes to prove that science wouldn't give you all the answers.

There are some pictures that seem to have captured angels on film. I think the electro chemical theory is close to the truth in how our brains work but there is a soul also. I believe our soul is in our hearts.

No, never captured a soul but I watched a woman die once. I could see her spirit leaving her body as the paramedics tried to revive her. I knew that their work was in vain because it was clear that her soul had passed on and her body was now an empty shell. It was a profound experience which taught me that not only is there life after death, but God created us in His image and gave us a soul. Science, for all its progress, is still ill equipped to explain the miracles of God's handiwork.

Science is based upon theories that need to be proven....hence theorems are just that. Proof!

Spiritual philosophy cannot be proven as yet, hence your question is a red herring.

The soul moves freely through consciousness. It is transparent but indestructible. It is our true selves.
