i want to make my 1997 ford exploder 2 door a 4x4.

Did I read right? You are asking if you can CONVERT your 1997 Explorer INTO a 4WD? I don't think I've EVER seen a 2WD 2-door Explorer in my time. Like the above poster says. Just sell your vehicle and BUY a 4x4 Explorer. It will be MUCH cheaper that way!!!

Well No. You would have to change the chassy, the rear end, get a transfer case, change the frount axle. Beleave me you could do it but it cost a lot and by the time you did it would be cheeper to just buy a 4x4

its not worth the trouble, there is not really a "kit" you can buy, did you think about, tranny hump? transfer case? front diffrential? Its hard, and plus it wouldnt be as strong as a factory 4x4

Not without a lot of expense and work. It would make MUCH more sense to just trade for a 4WD Explorer.

ask a lift shop , at the very least you could have a lift kit installed or diy , if thats what your in it for .
