Because Vista was Made by Microsoft (not to put them down, but they are a bit iffy) and it's new, it's also loaded with BUGS.
Firefox - www.mozilla.org - the new 2.0.0.2 update makes firefox compatible with VISTA!
Yahoo - Updated toolbar
Like i said, It's a new OS, so give programs some time before they can make vista compatible.

Did you install Vista from scratch or did you do an "upgrade" from XP leaving all your old data and applications intact? Sounds like your system is confused.
Firefox 2.0 works fine on Vista, as does the latest Yahoo Toolbar for Firefox.
Download the latest Firefox (2.0.0.2) from http://getfirefox.com
Download the latest Toolbar (1.4.0) from http://toolbar.yahoo.com/firefox
If you're still having problems, you're probably going to have to create a new Firefox profile.

Try checking the Firefox forums. Also, make sure you have the latest version. I've been running Firefox on Vista for several weeks and haven't had any problems.

Currently Vista doesn't have Firefox on it's list of supported applications. Wait till they either release a hotfix for the app or Firefox devs figure out what is the conflict with Vista and put out an update.

This is why I didn't start running XP until 2003. I'm not going to pay good money to be a beta tester... I think it's better to wait and let the bugs get worked out.
