Because it's ultimately not about you being decent or being moral. It's about whether or not you submit to organized religion and let yourself be psychologically manipulated by clergymen who claim to have an inside connection to the Big Man Upstairs.

Let me put this into an analogy for you. God has a home (heaven) for people who want a relationship with Him. It's his house and he's offering an invitation to you.

In an analogy, that would be like a Donald Trump offering an invitation for you to go on the Apprentice. If you do the things he asks, you get the job. But if you refuse to even go on the show, why should you be the winner, just because you are a great business person. ALthough the analogy is way off, it's the same kind of logic. God offers a home to anyone who wants to follow him. And he's still waiting for you to accept the invitation.

Ok...here's a question for you. Should a bank give you money just because you think you deserve it? Probably not. There has to be an effort made on your part. How do you know you're a good person? Good is relative. What you think is good, I might think is bad. God doesn't ask you to have blind faith. That's why He sent Jesus here. He was God on earth and He was rejected. Even if He's right here, if He doesn't perform the parlor tricks some humans want, He's rejected. He already gave you proof. It's up to you to believe it or not. He asks for very little and even that is griped about.

U might go to hell, coz God is more important than persons.

God created you, persons didnt, so stop focusing in people and start to mind more about pleasing God....that simple.

To get love from God is easier and will bring u more benefit than the whole love u could get from people.

God will love u no matter how educated u are, no matter if u have nice clothes or even if u have to take the bus. HE will just love u for u remembering He is ur creator and only provider in this...and in the next life...

Good luck

The Bible cannot be more clear on this matter. No one is good but God. (Mark 10:18). No one deserves to go to Heaven, we all deserve to go to Hell. Why? Because we have sinned against a Holy God. We have Broken the Moral Law, (10 Commandments), and will be found guilty on Judgment day. That is why Jesus came to the world and suffered and died on the cross. Because He loves us so much, He took our punishment for us, so that we might be forgiven. In responce to that, we are to repent of our sins, that is to confess and forsake them, and put our faith and trust in Christ alone. Heaven is not filled with good people, only bad people that have been forgiven.

God sends no one to Hell. He gives people a choice and a free will to choose. If you go to Hell, it's because you've chosen not to accept Christ as your Savior. And nobody is good enough to 'earn' their way. Christ died and rose again, so that He may be the one to save you. The Bible says, For by grace are you saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God, NOT OF WORKS lest any man should boast. God doesn't want your works or good deeds, He just wants you. God doesn't want you to be able to boast about the reasons you are in Heaven. It says that salvation is a gift of God; He isn't going to force anything on you.

Faith has eyes. The eyes of the heart. There is no such thing as blind faith. The point of God's love is not escaping hell but restoring fellowship. Not to have fellowship with Him is hell to begin with.

Because of God's love we are even now by His power seated in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. This is all without any effort on our part; which saves us from boasting that one has done more or done better than another. God will not allow boasting.

If you believe there is a God then in your heart you must consider that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Then start seeking and see if He does not prove Himself to you. I hope that seems fair because that is the way it is.

We live in an age and among people who live every hour in the vanity of their own minds. They hold their thoughts up to the mirror and admire them or hold them up here on religion and spirituality for others to admire.

God says a vain mind separates itself from His life. Such vanity does not come from great intelligence but rather blindness of heart. "As long as I am a good person what does it matter? Well it matters to God, for without faith it is impossible to please Him.

no offesne, but it's people who ask these questions who tick me off, as I see this question every day. but If you must know....

(The Bible has a lot of law terms, so let's compare it similarly...)

Getting saved is like signing a contract. That contract basically says "My life is now in God's hands" and states the boundaries of the contract, as well as benefits (Heaven, God's back-up, Fruit of the Spirit...). By just being a good person, you aren't entitled to the benefits, as you haven't signed the contract.

also, by "just being a good person", you've rejected Christ as you're Lord and Savior, so you've just committed basically the biggest sin, as though you're not under contract, you still live under the spiritual law of sin and death (eternal separation from God, as God can't be with sin).

that help? and don't call it blind, cuz we're obviously more informed...

What do you mean blind faith? You have a world , universe, intelligent beings all around you and yet you stubbornly deny God and arrogantly put yourself above God or equal God to judge God but then do not admit God can judge you. You are filled with unrighteousness.

You also seem to think you know what being good is and claim you are good, God is judge of that not you, if you promounce yourself good that is called self righteousness not goodness.

Isaiah 54:6 very clearly states But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away. When the final judgement comes, there will be a great fire, and all the good things you do before you receive Jesus Christ as your personal savior are going to be filthy rags and burn to ashes. All the good things you do after you are born agian, will be as Gold and Silver

God asks for very little ; for you to spend your free choice wisely; you have to acknowledge his gift of salvation by accepting Jesus ; even if you are good and don't accept Jesus, you are putting yourself at or above the level of God by thinking that you know better than he when we are humans; if you deny his gift, his message, his son, and his promise of life after death then goodness can't undo that you don't believe in your maker , you don't have faith in him, his son and his message ; if someone came to you as such in this world, what good is goodness if they don't love you enough, accept you enough; wouldn't accept your gift, wouldn't accept your message nor your promise and plan and deny you when they get the chance; what would you say to that person if they showed up on your doorstep ??? think about it
