Fruits and veggies are always good but watch your meats. Try to get lean poultry. This is high in protein and low in fat, very healthy. Fish is great too if you like it.

As far as snacks go, low fat can be deceiving. Be sure to look at the sugar content too, as a lot of brands will call something fat-free, but load it with unhealthy sugars. I like to get the sugar free jello snacks. They are really good and healthy for a nice small snack.

It really all comes down to reading the labels, there are certain foods that are basically always good:
Oatmeal
Fruit
Veggies
Poultrey (I like to grill frozen chicken breasts)
Brown Rice
Eggs

Just be sure to check the label on things, look at the fat content AND the sugar content. I don't know for sure what you have at your market but just check for those things in your snack aisle and you will be fine. There are a lot of tasty things that are healthy too. Bon apetite

most people tend to forget that you need healthy fats to make up about 30% of your diet. they keep you full, help you absorb vitamins, reduce cholesterol, and keep your hormones working. get it from sources like fish (canned fish is good too), natural peanut butter, all kinds of nuts, and olive oil.

i would also suggest avoiding any kind of processed food that is marketed as "low fat" or whatever. they often contain a ton of salt and/or sugar. stick to natural foods. here's a list of ideas in addition to the fat sources above, and fruits and veggies:

- chicken, lean beef, eggs, fat free milk/yogurt/cottage cheese, regular oatmeal, brown rice, whole wheat bread/pasta, beans.
