My computer has a virus and I can't seem to fix it. I'm doing projects and I also am put on away on msn. My ex-bf is also online. Should I say hi to him and then ask him if he knows how to fix viruses? Would he think I'm just using this as a way to say hi to him? He studied engineering so he may know? Also, HE was the one who dumped me one year ago, BUT he still says hi sometimes on msn. AND just a month ago, he called me to go see a movie with him, but I havn't heard from him since then. Even though me and him are not really friends, is it bad if I ask him for help with this virus thing on msn?

Nope. Ask him straight out and tell him that you are sorry if it seems you are using him but that you know he is good at this stuff and you wanted an excuse anyway to see how he was. Play to his vanity about how you remember how smart he was with computers and be serious about wanting to know what he is up to. Maybe this is fates way of getting you two to talk and stay friends.

well if he asked you to a movie go ahead.he obviously is ok with being friends atleast. my ex husband gives me pc advice, and even looks things up online for me to buy when i need a "device" for my computer or home entertainment system.

if you care that much your obviously not over him.

and you probably don't need the regret, worry, and self loathing you'll probably feel after you ask him and he sorta blows you off because u go
"hey um i was wondering because you did engineering and stuff, um...my computers been acting strange and, you know, I was just wondering if you could maybe help me out..."
which is pretty dumd considering;
ENGINEERING HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH COMPUTERS
OR FREAKING VIRUSES!!!
NOTHING EVEN CLOSE TO THAT!!!

Well you are still acquaintances obviously, since you still say hi and all. I think it's a fine idea. It's been a year, you can be friends now!

It may be okay if all you really want is help to fix your computer. Your ex is your ex for a reason....keep on moving. By the sound of your email, you seem a little hung up on him.

Let it go, if he was that interested, he would have contacted you a month ago, and taken you to that movie.
