I'm very interested in learning Russian language. I have a very good start. I would like to increase my vocabulary, but I have a hard time memorizing everything. Are there any techniques that I can use to increase my language skills? Thank you very much!

Having learned Russian myself...

1. Download the free copy of BYKI from www.byki.com, and use the program's flash cards to improve your vocabulary.

2. Find someone to practice with. Verbal practice is the best bet for remembering.

3. Print out Russian words, and tape them on the things they represent around your house. For example, put the word "зеркало" on your mirror. This lets you see the Russian word for these things daily, which will improve your vocab.

4. Purchase a copy of "5000 Russian Words", by Leeds and Paperno. Learn a new word (or a few) each day.

5. Read Russian news (in Russian). Several are online, like Pravda (www.pravda.ru).

Мы можем с Вами переписываться по-русски. Также помогает чтение прессы, журналов и конечно, живое общение!

Удачи и оптимизма в изучении языка!!!
