This guy that I like just broke up with his girlfriend about 4 days ago, and lately he's been flirting with me. Just to let you know we're friends. You see on the same day they broke up, he told me he loved me. But I don't know if he was joking joking, or try to make me think he was joking and he was really serious. You see him and one of his friends was messing around with me in a good way. Then his friend told him to be nice then he said I love you. What do you think?

Wait a little bit. If he keeps sending you signs or flirting with you, then talk to him and ask him if he was serious when he told you he loved you. If you guys are friends, he won't lie to you.

this exact thing happened to me after my friend told a girl that liked him that he had started going out with someone else, then she hit on me and we were friends for a really long time before that. I suggest you wait and see 9maybe for a week or so) if keeps it up confront him if he says he's jokeing then wait and see if he's not then you need to decide weather you like him or not and then make a call. It's probably just shock or something he's going through and might be sayine hey i broke up and i need to get back together with someone or i broke up and really might like her. and then you have to ask yourself do you like him back if he likes you and if he doesn't feel relived and forget about the whole thing. Hope this helps i've been there and done that and still am.

Do you want love on the rebound?
Can you trust a guy who dumps one girl and then turns around and tells another he loves her? Remember that he'll treat her the same.
IF he was serious and you don't mind the above then give it time to test the waters and let him actually get over and figure out what went wrong with the last girl he was with.

It seems to me that he isn't a rock star, but only a painter on the street. My answer is therefore YES. But as a woman you should make a good move. Let him know clearly that you won't jump into bed with him even on your birthday. You need time to get to know him. If he asks you out, just go for it. If he crosses your line, your instinct will tell you that you have to dump him.

Go slow I would say. People make serious moves sometimes when they are emotional. Do not lock the door but be cautious. See what develops. He may be very vulnerable right now is on the rebound.
