Watch your cockatiel closely for a few hours to be sure all the bleeding has stopped before you leave it alone. You can wipe some blood off only if it's still fresh-let the wounds heal first.Don't try to scrub off the dried blood-it will only irritate and hurt your bird.In a couple of days you can give him a bath to remove the blood spots.Hope everyting's going to be alright with your birdie....I have several cockatiels at home too,so i m very familiar with your situation.Try also putting him in a bigger cage so in future if anything like that happens again he won't get hurt so much.

He probably banged himself around his cage a good bit. sparkling off the bloody areas via keeping him in a towel, conversing softly and camly to him and use a cotton ball soaked in hydrogen peroxide (different than around the nostrils. in case you may, dab those wounds with a q-tip this is no longer dripping yet has slightly hydrogen peroxide on the top). examine that a blood feather isn't broken and nonetheless bleeding. despite if that's, pull the feather out on the floor line then cope with the floor via applyting flour or baking soda till the bleeding stops. He could be appearing unusual day after right this moment. supply it time. The nighttime frights are elementary in cockatiels. they're completely blind at nighttime, can infrequently see something in dim mild so any abrupt noise or shadow will cause them to panic. Please be greater careful to have a nighttime mild for him, in line with danger have a small one on for all time so this would not take place back once you flow away.

Get some tepid to warm water and wash off the blood from his feet and feathers, be very careful around his cere since cockatiels don't do well with water (they tend to breathe it in quickly). Make sure when you're doing this there is not draft and that the bird is dried off fairly well since birds can become sick very quickly if they're left with wet feathers. If the bird is calmer, take him/her out and talk quietly to it and comfort it; sorta like you would with a kid who's scared of the dark. If it's still panicky keep the cage closed and talk to it since your hand reaching in for it may scare it even more.

Yes you can use water to clean him up if he will let you. If the area is still bleeding use a little flour to help clot the bleeding.

Your tiel should be ok but a buddy, even a parakeet, helps stop night frights!!!
