It's very unlikely. Only if it is a viral infection and your immune system just happens to clear out the virus while the medicine is working. The hypothalamus, a part of the brain, increases your body temp to help kill the infecting organism. If you have a bacterial infection, get to the doctor and get some antibiotics. If it's a virus, and it's a low grade fever (101 or less), try to wait it out because it's helping to get rid of the infection. If you don't want to worry about it, then just keep popping tylenol every 4-6hours. best of luck.

a fever is a body's reaction to a harmful bacteria or virus. the fever may return when the medication (Tylenol is best for fever) wears off -usually after 4 hours. there is no need to treat a fever below 101.9 with meds in an adult or child. one can alternate Advil every 6 hours w/Tylenol every 4 hours. be sure not to overheat the body with blankets and layers of clothing. drink lots of liquids.

No. Antipyretics act for only about 4 hours. The fever will keep returning as long as the causative organism remains in the body.
