Ok, first thing's first, we're both in high school (seniors) I drive to school everyday and she gets dropped off. We don't know each other at all but we see each other almost everyday. We both walk up the side of the school to the parking lot to get go home (she gets picked up). I always get out first and start heading to the parking lot. I have this feeling that she wants to talk because she usually catches up to me and slows down to walk behind me. She is the really really quiet type, the kind who don't start conversations, are set in their schedules, and if you were to talk to her, she'd probably freak that somebody noticed her. How do I go about striking up a conversation with her? She is really really pretty but I think she feels insecure for some reason. How do I try to get her to break out of her shy barrier? I'm kinda quiet myself so bear with me =) Any conversation starters for a shy girl? Thanks.

p.s. her parents are usually waiting so I don't have much time to work with.

I am shy but I am not rude, if you hello to her then I am sure that she would say hello back and that is a good start. After you say hello then the next day try hanging around for her before you start heading to the parking lot and start off with hello again. Conversation should evolve from there but just be patient if she is shy it will take time. If you are consistent then she will be more likely to speak with you. Good Luck!

Since this is a daily ritual, the easiest first step is to make eye contact with her and give her a nice smile. As you do this a few days in a row you will either find she is paying more attention to you, since who doesn't like that kind of attention, or completely avoiding you. As long as she isn't completely hiding from you at this point, if you want to play the slow casual game you can elevate this to a simple hello. You get a few minutes every day to extend this and eventually this can move to a real conversation. One that finds out her phone number and her favorite food. If things feel good then go ahead and ask her out. Caution* Don't take too long to go through this process or you are in danger of ending up in the friend zone.

Go say hi to her. Ask her her name if it's not obvious that you know it. Compliment her on her hair or shirt or something.
Ask her if she likes (name a kind of movie, like comedy or romance or SCIFI [however you spell it]...or ask if she likes rollerskating/iceskating ) then ask her if you could call her later about maybe going to see a movie or go skating or something.

I am one of those really shy girls who just sits in the sielines, the only time I act unshy in online. So I know what i'm talking about.

well, go for it, there's really nothing to lose, plus then you'll know for sure if she really likes you. she ain't gonna make a move and you know it. You have to make a move...and soon.
