It ranges from just to the left of my belly button (on the left side of my body) and slightly above and below that. It only hurts in the front and it's a stabbing, twisting, hurts-really-bad kind of pain. It hurts occationally and doesnt seem to have any kind of pattern of when it hurts. HELP. PLEASE. I seriously think i might be dying :(

Typical questions...when does this happen...with or without food, what makes the pain better or makes it worse, does the pain go anywere else, is it an achng pain or a sharp pain? Are you nauseated with this pain or have constipation or diarrhea with it? When you have answered all of these, see you doctor....and get diagnosed. Without being able to examine you, it is ethically bad medicine to try and tell you what this is.

Much pain is from muscles below is an example of what may help (based on headaches).
Begin with a couple swigs of molasses or a couple of bananas daily - magnesium (which regulates many things in the body) and potassium (a needed building block for muscles).
Drink at least 1/2 gallons of water per day. Running a body low on water is like running a car low on oil is the analogy the head of neurology at UCDavis told my husband about 10 years ago.

Now to the cause - muscles - your back, neck shoulders and head have tender spots. They are knots in the fibers of the muscles called trigger points. It makes the muscles tight which makes them press on nerves and other things causing the pain.

The cure - start with a professional massage, you will also want to go back over any place you can get to 6-12 times per session up to 6 times per day rubbing (or lightly scratching on your head) every where that is tender until the knots go away. The place where the skull connects to the spine press up under the edge of the skull (to get to those muscles).

For more information read The Trigger Point Therapy Workbook by Davies. It teaches what to do and where the pain comes from.

I'm no Dr. but my daughter suffers similar symptoms on the right side. Bad news is - I have no good answers.

I do know that after a CS they found free pelvic fluid the ER Dr. thought she had ovarian cycst that were bursting and said it wasn't a reason for concerne (The Pain is reason for concerne).
Her primary care thought it was galbladder related and had a gallbladder ultrasound done. Another ER Dr. said there is no reason a female should go to the ER with abdominal pains and didn't check her out (gave her some good IV pain meds and sent her home) we deal with this often. It's not cramps and doesn't coincide with menstral cycles....We're still lost her Primary Dr. doesn't want her to see a gyno because she's still in her teens.

Sorry I don't know how to help.

It could be a tenderness in the smooth muscle of the bowel but it is also located in the area of the pancreas..so as nursey has said; it is a good idea to see your Doctor.

I'm a nurse. Any epigastric pain like that is alarming, see a doctor right away. It is serious enough to go to the ER.

Since it's on the left you can rule out appendicitus. But check with your doctor to make sure.
