Sounds like an excellent way to get injured. Just run, it's enough of a workout all by itself. A weight vest is only going to make you run with an unnatural stride, and put unnecessary strain on your joints.

No, but it will make you crippled quicker. Running is NOT an exercise for overweight people. (Or maybe anyone). You need exercise which is less harsh on your joints, especially the hips.
