I get to go to Hawaii for free, and stay there for free.
My best friend and I are going to be staying with her in-laws for a week.
What would be a nice gift to bring that can handle a long flight from the States?
Thanks for your serious answers!

Go to Hallmark or similar store. Buy one of those crystal candle holders. These will be boxed so it can definitely handle the long flight. Splurge...get something really classy - something you yourself would want to get.

Have a safe and wonderful trip.

I think that a really nice bottle of wine always makes a welcome gift when you stay at somebody's house (unless they don't drink of course). You could even buy it at the airport when you land so that it only has to make the shuttle journey or get something local and wrap it well in clothes in your suitcase. Enjoying it with your hosts over dinner is nice too. You could always give them a gift on your departure to say thank you once you have got to know them and their tastes. Doing the dishes while you are there always goes down well too. Have a good trip, so jealous =)
