Please help me I don't know what to do. I want to know how long would it take for him to get a ssn and a work permit, or whether that's possible or not. Also does he will have to leave the country?

If you are a Permanent Resident you can file the I-130 once you are married. Once approved it will be forwarded to the National Visa Center where it will stay until a visa number becomes available OR you become a US Citizen through naturalization. It sure doesn't hurt to get a jump on it now while you are still a PR. You will be that much closer. He will however have to return to mexico (under no circumstances should he overstay if he has entered legally). If he is in the US illegally then he should go back to Mexico to await the interview where he will be denied but given the chance to file a waiver. You can get more information on waivers by visiting http://www.visacentral.net/comehere.html Laurel Scott is a very experienced immigration attorney specializing in waivers particularly those from mexico. She also has a live chat every wednesday at 11am for questions.

See the below link for guidelines to file the I-130 petition. I would also recommend filing the I-129F which leads to the K-3 visa because Immigrant Visas (eg CR-1) are taking up to a year to be scheduled in Juarez.

If he is already in the country, then he might never get his green card, if he is still in mexico and you apply for one, then it can take up to a year with all the paperwork, and then it will be another two years before he is a resident, this is after you were married, and if he has a criminal record he might not ever get legal citizenship. They check all of that and your tax records so have them ready. Work permit he can get now, if he has a job but again if he is already here illegally then they might take him back over the border when they find out he is not still in mexico.

He will have to leave the country and wait for his adjustment date (which could be years). So you are getting married just so he can get his green card?

What kind of a man is he? Since he is here without residency that means that he is illegal. If he disregards the immigration laws what makes you think that he will change from being a criminal to a good person?

If that the kind of person you would want to be the father of your children?

Do you have such low self respect that you would be willing to settle for such a low life?

He can't get an SSN until he is legal and has an employment authorization.

If you are getting married just so he can get his green card, that's fraud. Think twice about it.

married so he can get a green card. sounds like marriage fraud. has he applied for an employment authorization card? why not apply for legal status now? leave which country? he is supposed to wait in his country until he receives his permit to enter into the u.s. legally.

You must become a citizen to apply for him. And DO NOT marry only to give him his papers, make sure you want to be with him for the long run. Call Immigration and ask them what their time frames are.
