That is a very good question. One reason is that you have those in the United States and around the world who think that it is a war crime or plain criminal act to execute a terrorist, the same people who argue against the death penalty.
My thought on this is that there is no reason. They do not think before the kill innocent people. I think that we should only keep them alive long enough to get the information that we need from them and then you know.

Because all our forces are in Iraq and Afghanistan instead of bombing the al Quaeda training camps in countries that harbor them, like Saudi Arabia. You remember the Saudis, they trained, funded and provided 3/4 of the assault force for the 9/11 attack, they're the ones Bush tried to give control of our ports to. hopefully, our next president will be more concerned about America and less concerned about the mark he will make in history.
