I feel so bad for you. I too used to get migraines so bad I would cry. Try lying down in a dark room. No lights at all. If it's day time when you get a migraine, put something over your eyes to block out the light. Lay down and close your eyes and relax. I still get an occasional migraine and this method still works for me. If you are so light sensitive, going into a dark room might help. Take your ibu with water like your doc said to do. Being around light just makes it worse and takes longer to go away. I really hope this helps you out.

Hi I know dat its hard when you get migraines, believe me i get them too and it used to be a lot harder then it is now for me , and i know it might be hard for you to do,but first you need 2 relax and get some rubbing alcohol and a small towel and put some of the rubbing alcohol onto the small towel, but be careful not to put too much, just a little, fold the small towel up and lay down and relax and put it on your forehead, all you need to do is be careful not to get the towel on your eyes which will be the reason why you just put a little of the rubbing alcohol on the small towel. Another thing is if you have an empty stomach you can drink some apple juice and that will settle your stomach. There is also these types of pillows and I've been using 1 of them and i don't know where exactly you can buy them but they might be in AJ right or in Marshalls they have these small beads in them with a lavender scent which will help you relax a little, it might seem a little flat but they are very comfortable.I'm not sure if there is an A J Right where you live but it will most probably be in one of those stores.

I sometimes get migraines. The only way I can reduce the migraine or get rid of it is sleeping over 8 hours. So when I get a migraine, I would take a sleeping pill and go to sleep, even in the middle of the day. When I'm at work, I would take two excedrin headache pain relievers and tie a rope around my head tightly. It does help with the pain. I cover it up with a snow cap. I hope you feel better soon.

I have had luck with excedrin migraine, or sometimes I would alternate ibuprophen and 4 hrs later acetaminophen keeping this up every 4 hrs. In the meantime I would ask your doctor for a prescription migraine medication like maxalt tablets or melts, or immitrex. If they are unwilling to do so then ask for a referral to a neurologist. I can empathize with your situation as I have been hospitalized for migraines that lasted over 30 days.

Oh how i feel that pain for you. There are few home remedies for this except go into a room with no light and no sound and try to brreak the pattern of pain by going to sleep with a cold cloth on your eyes or icebag on your head. Then you need to seek medical treatment for this condition. Ther are real medications on the market that will stop the migraine immediatey! Let someone know so they can help you. Ibuprofen will not do that much good for you and it is, in itself, a stomach irritant.
I have had this probem for years till I got help.

Much pain is from muscles below is an example of what may help (based on headaches).
Begin with a couple swigs of molasses or a couple of bananas daily - magnesium (which regulates many things in the body) and potassium (a needed building block for muscles).
Drink at least 1/2 gallons of water per day. Running a body low on water is like running a car low on oil is the analogy the head of neurology at UCDavis told my husband about 10 years ago.
Now to the cause - muscles - your back, neck shoulders and head have tender spots. They are knots in the fibers of the muscles called trigger points. It makes the muscles tight which makes them press on nerves and other things causing the pain.
The cure - start with a professional massage, you will also want to go back over any place you can get to 6-12 times per session up to 6 times per day rubbing (or lightly scratching on your head) every where that is tender until the knots go away. The place where the skull connects to the spine press up under the edge of the skull (to get to those muscles).
For more information read The Trigger Point Therapy Workbook by Davies. It teaches what to do and where the pain comes from.

Migraines are not something you take home remedies for. FIORICET is a wonderful migraine medicine. There is also stronger medicine than that, but in any case you DO need a doctor for a prescription. If you don't want to deal with a doctor but have a credit card, type in FIORICET in your browser search bar. You will find there are hundreds of pharmacies that will dispense this medication to you overnight, if you pay the FedEx charges. You will have relief as soon as tomorrow. Cost: Anywhere from $60.00 to $108.00 for a month's supply. It works and $108.00 is worth it to relieve your pain. I sure hope you have a credit card. I already know you have a computer with Internet access. Good luck!!

First of all I am so sorry because unless you have had a migraine people dont understand. I have also had them all of my life so I know how you feel. I tried all kinds of medicines prescribed by doctors and nothing worked. Now, the only thing that works for me is Excedrin. I also like to put the heating pad on my head and take a bath. I hope that you feel better.

i suffer from migraines also. the only thing i could suggest if the medicine is not working, is to lye down in a dark room and try to relax. put a warm or cool washrag (which ever feels better to you) on your forehead. this is what i do when my migraines get so bad that i feel like i am going to die. i try to sleep it off, sometimes the headache is gone and sometimes its still there but not as bad. i know exactly what your going through, i hope you feel better soon!!! sorry i couldn't help you out more. so go lay down and get better! *hugs* to you!

breath in some very nice aroma. It will calm your senses. Try vanilla and cinnamon,
lavender and chamomille,
rosewood and orange, or
honeysuckle and tea tree .
Try rubbing your temples too.
Also, maybe a nice long hot bath with lit incense or candles would be calming and relaxing.
Be sure too eat what you are comfortable with too....... not too little, and not too much. Stay on those pain medications though, your migranes may be much worse without it. You may want your parents help too, sice you are around 13 i am guessing. also try to rest ALOT because when you are tired, sleepy, or relaxed, you tend not to notice pain alot. and you shouldnt feel it at all when you are sleeping.
Good luck!!!
i am 13. maybe around your age? I have just started my period, so i no what you are going through.
