Im a Pagan and have been called a druggie and a satanist and a gothic. I couldn't be farther from any of it. Drugs scare me, satanists are weirdo cult people, and I for one love color in my life.

I completely agree! I'm not a Pagan, but I find it highly offensive when they start saying that what you do is the work of the Devil, that you're druggies, etc. It's completely rude to judge you like that, and they couldn't be farther from the truth.

Why are people afraid of that which is different from them? When they insult you, they just make themselves look more ignorant.

First of all, if you are Pagan, I find it hard to believe you think all satanists are weirdo cult people. Obviously, you have not met many Satanists. So do not talk about that which you know nothing about. Just as Pagan is an umbrella term for many different religious paths, Satanism is also more of an umbrella term as there are different kinds of Satanists. Do some research.

Second of all, instead of being insulted by the ignorance of others, why don't you just smile and say, not everyone is like that and then show them by example.

Third, there's nothing wrong with goths, emos or whatever any more so than there is with being a hippy, the 80s glam, the headbanger look, the 70s disco, punk rock, pants dropping hip hop or any other fad that's out there.

You must be new to paganism, you seem very judgemental and close minded.

Uhm, Satanists are not "Weirdo Cult People."

I happen to be a Pagan and a Theistic Satanist [Unlike Modern Satanists, I am not an Atheist].

Not all Pagans are not some form of Satanist.

Actually, it is not all people. It is just the over Zealous, over self protective, insecure, intolerant.... etc etc .... Christians.

Not all Christians are like that, only some. I am a Buddhist, and I was called a satanist by these people too. I just ignore them. They are just unsure of themselves and their own religion. They need to bash others to feel they are wanted or superior.

So, just ignore these people.

Because of willful ignorance. The correct information is out there, they just refuse to expose themselves to it. A lot of people get their perceptions of Pagans (and even Satanists - who really aren't what everyone makes them out to be) from Hollywood and their pastors, ministers, and priests. They don't bother to stop and actually find out what's really going on.

It's the "us and them" attitude. According to christians who consider themselves the "us" group, you don't share their beliefs, so you're in the "them" group. The bible teaches christians the "them" group are tools of the devil, i.e. satanists. And from there you get labelled with all the stereotypes that go along with satanists.

I don't mean to generalize or point the finger at anyone, but fundie Christians do that because they are taught that anyone that doesn't believe exactly what they believe is in league with the Devil. In other words, you are either for God, or you're for Satan. There isn't any middle ground, or anything else, as far as they are concerned.

Just stupidity. my experience is that christians see anything that is not christianity as satanic.

I find ome of the pagan religions fascinating. There is a lot of wisdom in them. Especially about nature.

The same reason atheists are accused of being satanists...people don't understand our beliefs and refuse to educate themselves.

Pagans are similar to (or the same as) Wiccans, right?
Is it true that most Pagans are pro-life on the abortion issue?
