dont worry. even if you are in the greatest shape on earth, they will find a way to break you. I was in the 82nd airborne and before basic training I did 500 push ups a day, 100 pushups for each mile I jogged at a time. I did so many situps my tailbone was raw, and still, they broke me down. They do it by pushing you to your limits and beyond. Some people doing 50 pushups is too much, so they make them do 50 and more, for me, I did 100+ at a time and slow, real slow so it burned like crazy. Then 10 seconds later, they made me do another 100, real slow, then they made you sprint and jog and sprint and then do another 100. It was pure hell.

Basic really is not that hard, just a head game. If you a worried about the PT test the you should be working on all three events push ups, sit ups and the 2 mile run. you should be trying to run 4 miles a day at an 8 min. pace then you would have no problem running 2 miles at a 6-7 min pace. do 2 mins. of push ups and sit ups everyday when you get up and just before you go to bed. then with a regual work out lift or something like swimming about 3 times a week you will be very fit by June.

Oh and stay away from candy, chips and soda.

Basic army training can be nasty. They pull all kind of tricks on you. I was put on light arrest for following orders.
Having said that just go with the flow. Don't be scared because of this or that. Basic training is the way for the army to see where you fit in best. You may have a tough 6 weeks in front of you but once you are out of basic everything lightens up. Sergeants become human beings again. It is all a big act.
