As with any other band you've ever been a member of, find people you can get along with on tour. This is a major consideration, even with gospel groups. You'll probably have to do a lot of part-time gigging before you go full time. You'll need to devote insane amounts of time to rehearsing, not to mention promotion (if you're still in the position of having to handle that yourself). Carefully examine all paperwork and documentation before signing contracts or anything else, but doubtless, you already know that from experience, if you're a musician.
