WHY are MOST CHRISTIANS so FREAKING mean???

I asked this question... blah blah blah... and like 20 people told me that i was going to hell and that i was going to burn for eternity. Christians are so pathetic, trying to scare me into believing God. One person said (i copied and pasted this is what she really said)


You will continue to sink into the slime of humanity. The reason that you do not feel that bad is that your conscience is already dead. You do not realize that you are dead in sin and if you do not repent, when you die , you will be trapped in that dead body and realize it. You will feel every worm and spider and beetle that crawls on you. Consider all the people in the news lately that have died suddenly then think about what you are going to do for eternity trapped in death with demons tormenting you.

how mean. So... why are MOST christians always trying to scare you into believing god??? And one time my christian friend flipped out because i swore on the bible. OMG! LOL

Christians have a low standard of behavior.

They're taught that humans are born bad. Humans become what they think they are

They're taught that Jesus died for all their wrong doings

They are also taught that being good wont get them into heaven

Christian are human, just like everyone else. There are mean, ignorant believers out there who do not let God work to change their hearts.

I'm sorry that these are the Christians who have impacted you the most as they are clearly misrepresenting what our faith is all about. They might go to Heaven if they're saved, but they will be disappointed when they find out that worked negatively for God rather than effectively.

Scare-tactics did not work with me either, but opening the Bible and learning for myself sure did! Christians commonly take truth (like sinners going to Hell) and push that down everyone's throats, but they forget to tell others about the love aspect of it (you can get saved from an eternity in Hell by accepting Christ).

A great book by an atheist-turned-Christian is "The Case For Faith" by Lee Strobel. It's unbiased, factual, answers a lot of tough questions (like why is there suffering if God is merciful?), and it doesn't push anything down your throat.

Please know that there are a lot of "believers" out there who are not actually "Christians". A true disciple of Christ would not want to turn you off to their faith. I run in to them all the time, and even though I believe in the same Bible and worship the same God as they do, I see the falseness that you've described.

I think you must be careful with your generalizations. Most Christians I have met in my life have been very caring and loving.

But, I do think there are bad examples in groups of believers and non- believers. You know the saying, there's a bad apple in every barrel.

And you must remember that Christians are tired of being called brainwashed and idiots. Everytime I log onto yahoo answers, if I visit the R&S category, there is always someone telling me what a moron I am for believing in my religion. Everytime I turn on the news, I am being called a nazi because I am anti-gay marriages due to my religious beliefs.

Not all or most Christians are mean and hateful, but I think many are extremely angry at the way they are being treated by main stream media and the government, so they are beginning to lash out. Some do so more than they should.

You posted this same question yesterday. And in looking at the questions you have asked it would seem to me that you were just asking to get picked on. Don't ask stupid questions and you won't get answers like that. I'm an atheist and from the question about cheating I would have to say you are just a bad human being with no morals and no conscience. So don't blame the christians. They were just giving you what you deserved. And I think you need to spend less time on the computer amd more time working on your spelling. Eight hours a day working at McDonald's won't be much fun.

yeah, those Christians should watch out about anger. They forgot the story about Moses and why he wasn't allowed into the promised land. Because he got angry at the people's unbelief. Sheesh, set, point and game right there!

If you are worried about your conscience not bothering you when it should, just ask the Holy Spirit, plain and simple. He'll tell you what you need to know about yourself and others and how the world works and everything! And you know what? the Holy Spirit is not going to tell you that you'll burn in hell.

I think you have to know all Christians to say that most are mean.

You're young and as you get older you'll learn to filter out the rubbish that obsessive types spout about.

It's not anybody's place to say who's going to Hell apart from God or if in some bizarre way you choose to. I doubt if you will.

The truly good people do good for the sake of it, not for reward or to avoid punishment.

Christians are Christ like and these people who are answering these questions are not acting like Christ like. You can tell a true christian/follower of Christ by the fruits of their spirit... meaning would Christ say the things that those people said to you? The answer is no. As humans we all fall short, but as believers in Christ we must show love to are words and actions.

I think it's because many people who wave the Bible don't know the Author. So many people think God is just like they are and all their biases and prejudices are nothing but the wrath of God in human form. Please don't judge the God of the Bible by those who take His name in vain. The Bible has a lot to say about people like the ones you're describing, and apparently those people just aren't reading it.

I think the Christians for the most part are the more docile and much less aggressive.

I'm sorry you've encountered people like that. I'm guessing they are not secure in their beliefs and can't handle anyone who doesn't agree with them. Perhaps they were raised by people who told them they were going to hell for the least little infraction, and they can't go beyond that. Or, they have low self-esteem and say stupid stuff like that to feel better about themselves.
