Now im still young,19, but i had alot of long term relationships that just end badly.
Most of them were "loving" relationships but when it comes down to it, either she leaves me for not changing into somone better or i leave her to have alone time with friends.
No matter how long ive been with somone the relationship still seems "disposibile".
And well to be honest somtimes im in the relationship for selfish reasons, such as stabilty, always knowing that somones there to talk to or hang out with even if my friends are busy, or if i need somthing.

So i ask, how does one TRULY love another? without wanting somthing back in return?

Love is strange, and I guess for me somehow, I’ve learned, real love is a very, very strong form of forgiveness. I don’t think people yearn for love because they hate staying home alone on a Saturday night or because they dread going to restaurants alone. People want love because they want to know someone is there for them no matter what mistakes they do. They want someone to look past the surface of stuff like bad hair days, a too-loud of a laugh, or mood swings when anyone sits down they what acceptance and forgiveness. I think that's what will bring people to a happily ever after. The forgiveness between eachother, the loyality people hold, and the honesty couples work on is what gets people through relationships. I don't think you can never want something back but as long as the two of you put 110 percent effort into the relationship everything will be alright. Goodluck though. :-)

First off I have a question for you whats your idea of a long term relationship? Then on that note you answered it yourself your not ready for a true relationship, if you are starting a relationship so you wont be alone then it wont last. So dont bother trying to have a big long relationship, just get to know yourself and as silly as it sounds, love yourself for you, then date. You cant truly love someone until you love you.

Well, is not that I know all the answers, but in my opinion, nothing lasts forever, or almost anything, maybe, love is not supppossed to neither....

But I still belive love with the right individual can last forever, I'm just new on this, I just got a girlfriend, all my experiences come from people that asks for my advice, but don't worry, everything gets to you on the time it is suppossed to...

I don't know if this sounds stupid...it probably does but isn't loving another wanting something back. You can't just say you love someone when all they do when you're with them is sit on the couch and watch their favorite soap opera. It has to be mutual and commutitive and you both have to contribute to a happy and healthy relationship. hope this helps!

It isn't really a Doing anything you made it into a chore that way. It is like friendships....you don't really do **** to be friends you just are. You are young right...well, throwing yourself into relationships right now helps you find the zone of women you TRULY desire. You may find 200 bad relationships but when you find that one for **** sake that one just blows your mind.

i think that true love is wanting to be withsomeone for the rest of your life, and when you want to do anything and everything for that person.

love is when you give, and expect nothing in return.
