For the price I would get a break barrel design it's good for target shooting as well as light hunting it's also made in the fps range that your looking. I've seen some nice ones made by Beeman for around 149 dollars. The plus about spring guns is you don't have to spend money on CO2 cartridges. After awhile that will add up.

Springs can get dirty or sticky from over lubrication. co2 can lose pressure. Both problems can effect trajectory. I find that the spring is better, because it take longer to get dirty.
Had a Sheridan Blue Streak once .20 cal/5 mm. At 50 ft. target ranges I could stretch the first hole in the paper. It was spring.
Forgot to add that it cost between 100 and 120 dollars these days

This link will show you several different models ranging in price from $99 to $355. These are rifles fold in the middle one time to pump the gun. The more power they have, the more force is needed to pump it. Some of the stronger guns are over 50 pounds of pump force. These are by FAR better than any CO2 powered air rifle you can buy. They have more velocity, and you're not stuck buying expensive cartridges. My cousin bought this $99 model last summer and it does amazingly well. It will shoot completely through a metal folgers can. You can buy more than enough power for under 150 bucks. 1000 feet per second is pretty standard. For more than this, the price spikes quite a bit. More velocity isn't always better on these anyway as they sometimes sacrifice accuracy for speed.

Spring Piston! Take a look at an RWS M-34 - 1,000fps, lifetime warranty, RWS Dynamite Nobel has been making high quality precision air rifles for a very long time. The new synthetic stock model 34 & scope combo, would only run you a few dollars more than your $150
I have seen them for $170 on

i hate it, whilst people do no longer answer questions, as they're requested. like Sniper mentioned, ANY pellet gun, is reliable to shoot your chosen animals & like Sniper, i've got self belief which you will merely make the animal mad. pellet weapons, are not designed to kill something bigger than a small fowl or rodent. for the money you reported, while you're sufficiently previous, purchase your self a extra effective rifle, like a .17 HMR, or a .22 magnum. the two certainly one of which, will do the trick. yet another component to evaluate, in maximum areas, there's a distance regulation whilst capturing. in Florida, that's a minium of three hundred yds from a house & 2 hundred yds from a highway. look at the regulations, formerly capturing any style of gun reliable good fortune
