Sign up for babycenter.com it will give you email updates about your pregnancy and each step of your baby's development once he or she is born. See if there might be a local class on baby basics. Your hospital should be able to find one for you if you call labor and delivery.

Here is a link for baby milestones

Babies need formula or breast milk until they are a year old. No cow's milk until then. You can stop bottle feeding to use a sippy cup about 9mo or so

There are many different thoughts on pacifiers. The say they are good for babies for the first 3 mo to help baby avoid SIDS. My birth coach said to get rid of the binky at 6mo, but I still use it only in the car and at bedtime. It's totally up to you. Many believe that its better for babies to have a binky rather than using fingers to soothe themselves.

Potty training can vary as well, around 2ish is normal, but every child is different.
They start to sit up on their own around 5+ mo and crawl after that. Some babies go right to pulling themselves up

The two best books out there are "What to expect when your expecting" and "What to expect the first year" You can get these books cheap online at www.half.com
BEST OF LUCK TO YOU!!

Babies should be completely off the bottle (formula) by 18months. You can try to start potty training as early as 1 year, but it depends on the child. Start them when they begin to show an interest in the potty. You can get a subscription to Parenting Magazine, or there is a good book called What To Expect When You're Expecting. It's an Excellent source of info.

Get books, at like Barnes and Noble, or go to amazon.com and you can order books. Books are GREAT, but don't do everything by the book, be yourself you'll figure it out once your baby comes. I never had a bottle my mom breast fed for a year and then put me right on a sippie cup, so it could be different for everyone good luck!!

you can't learn parenting on the internet any more than you can learn to drive on here. your gonna have to befriend someone older than you like maybe a parent or grandparent? DUH! that way has worked for thousands of years.
