Yes, that is your registration code.

I wasn't aware that you can download XP. I know Vista is able to...but I didn't know XP could.

Cool.

But if you legally get XP on your computer, then use your registration key.

I actually suggest calling MS tech support, and seeing if you can get a replacement CD. They may even require you to send them the broken one as proof. I really have no idea...just a guess.

Probably a good reason to back up all your CDs!

You have to buy a cdrom of XP and supply a valid Key don't
bother with the serial sights because Microsoft is very on top
of this any pirated key is flagged they keep an eye on who's
key is legal and who's isn't same with Vista. Each copy of
XP and Vista is unique.

Yes, it will work. But like the user above me posted, be carefull of where you download it. Some people upload Windows XP pre-installed with trojans (backdoors) so they can hack into your computer as soon as you're up and running.

It should work, but be careful of your download source. I'm sure if you contact Microsoft I'm sure you should be able to arrange for another CD to be shipped out to you

Yes, your serial number will be valid. You may have to call Microsoft to get it reactivated depending on how many times you have reinstalled it.
