Tough one to answer - Depends on what you want to do with the car, and how much you want to spend.

RB26 is a HUGE job, you'll need an RB25 trans, and will need to do a lot of fabrication. SR20DET from the S15 is an easier swap, and parts are more plentiful.

This became no longer a vehicle conventional for it really is high quality and Nissan had themes with the transmission on virtually all of their fashions interior the late 90s. I had a Maxima throughout that factor and had both the transmission fail and also each gasoline injector failed one after the different. with the exception of that, both means the front means residing house windows failed, about 3 weeks aside, dropping the glass down into the door interior the approach the iciness. I absolutely were advised they have stronger yet they burned me so undesirable i am going to not at all own yet another Nissan. The transmission became below 2 months out of assure and they refused to change it until eventually I went over their head to the zone manager. finally, he advised me that this failure became o.k. conventional and they'd cover the cost of the trans yet no longer the confusing artwork. The trans became $2750 and the confusing artwork became $800. those idiots have 0 theory of client provider and loyalty. Sorry, off target. i'd be very leery of this vehicle. purchase a Honda Civic SI as a replace.

seeing as your name is drift-something, the sr20det is your best bet... it gives the car a perfect weight distribution, whereas the RB series engine makes it front heavy... note that while Tein's S15 runs an RB26, it also has the firewall cutout so the back half of the engine can sit under the dash giving it the weight distribution of the SR (roughly)
