Jesus taught the road to salvation is narrow and few there be that find it, while the gate to destruction is wide and many their be that enter. What did he mean by this? Is there one true path, one true way? One true God, or many? How do we find him when their is so many different religions and beliefs? Are we condemned if we never find the right way, if there is a right way? If there is a God, does he simply desire us to transcend whatever sphere we are placed into, not attaching ourselves too tightly to any one belief.

In Ephesians chapter 4, verse 4-6 it states:

"There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; One Lord, one faith, one baptism. One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all."

This shows how, though the trinity are three separate beings, they act as one. It also states that there is one God and one Lord. I know that these are two separate beings in our Eternal Father and Jesus Christ respectively acting with one accord. It states that there is one baptism, meaning that there is only one way to inheret the kingdom of the Father, being baptism by those having authority given them by Jesus Christ for a remission of sins into His Church.

In James chapter 1, verse 5 and 6 states:

"If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed."

The only way to find the true way is to ask God the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ what is the truth. If you will ask Him in faith, He will manifest the answer to you. We will all have to opportunity to accept the true gospel of Christ, whether it is in this life of in the next, we will all have the opportunity to choose what is right.

Finally, when Jesus was referring to the straight and narrow path which few will enter into, He was refering to the fact that few people would accept the covenants that he had set before them and be able to return into the glory of His Father because their hearts were so set upon the things of this world.

For me it is difficult to accept the notion that there is only one path to find God. I look around at the natural world - the world not created by humans and I see infinite variety, endless possibilities, no two things every exactly alike. Why would God decide that there is only one path to transcendence? It doesn't make sense to me. I have to believe that God would be happy with any path we take, if it leads to love and tolerance and peace and understanding. It is we flawed humans who have the notion that everything must have a single answer, that there is such a thing as the best of something. And so all these independent ways of trying to know God have evolved - to me it's kind of like the parable of the blind men and the elephant, each having a different notion of the elephant based on what part he is touching. God is still God, and if God is infinite and we are not, how do we really know? Religions are constructed by humans and while each may feel they know exactly what God is, they are only holding on to their piece of the elephant. It is good for people to have faith; to believe in something; to feel in community. But I don't think it is good to assume that their version is the only version.

the wide road is the one that leads to hell, many go down it. the narrow road is the path to heaven and few enter. the narrow way is the one true path. there is one true God and he is the God of the Old AND New Testament. ur condemned if u never find the right way but since u know who Jesus is then u have been shown the right path its ur decision to follow it.

Jesus meant that not many can or will choose to follow the road to salvation. The only way is through my lord Jesus who shed his blood for so that all people might be saved. There are many false gods and religons but one true God and one way to life. The Bible instructs us how to live. Read it daily and pray often. Those who do not follow Jesus Christ will be thrown to the lake of fire on the Day of the Lord when all will be judged according to their words and actions

The scope of human history -- and the fact that Christianity came along so late in the game AND failed to spread by any means other than human transmission -- tells me that if there is a God, obviously there are many acceptable ways to approach that God. Otherwise, the Christian God would surely have done a better job at "getting out the memo", so to speak. (As I sometimes tell Christians: "If your God couldn't be bothered to come to my ancestors without the aid of missionaries, I don't see a great need to follow Him personally... but thank you for your concern.")

As to whether there's one God, or many... couldn't tell you for certain. I believe that the Divine is fundamentally incomprehensible to humans, so the question might be meaningless right off the bat. But I'll go with honoring the Divine as my own intelligence and intuition dictates, and I trust that you'll do the same.

Well, out of your own mouth you have echoed the teachings of Jesus,as recorded in the New Testament of the Bible. He is also the one that said that He was the way,the truth and the life..no one comes to the Father but by Him. And,if you do not believe that I am who I say that I am...then you will die in your sins and where I am going, you can not come.

One God manifest in 3 persons:Father,Son,Holy Spirit.

No matter how well intentioned in one's belief,if you are wrong about the person, nature and works of Jesus Christ, you will not enter the kingdom of God.

There is one way only!!!

In the words of the Apostle Paul, "there be gods many and lords many, but to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him".

Truth exists, but finding it can be difficult. God is a God of justice, and will not condemn anyone for not finding it if they sought it. The Prophet said, "For there are many yet on the earth among all sects, parties, and denominations, who are blinded... and who are only kept from the truth because they know not where to find it— Therefore, that we should waste and wear out our lives in bringing to light all the hidden things of darkness, wherein we know them; and they are truly manifest from heaven".

Truth is avaliable if we know where to find it. If you want to learn more, you can e-mail me at jtantley@gmail.com.

It doesn't matter whether there are hundreds of religions or not. If they are all teaching from God's Holy Bible the name of the religion doesn't matter at all. If they are not teaching the path to God Almighty is through His Son, Jesus Christ, then they are a false religion. End of story...

God does exist. There is one God with 3 members to Him; Father, Son, Holy Spirit. We were made in His image also with 3 members; body, soul and spirit.
Jesus IS the only way to the father. If we truly seek God, He will reveal Himself to us. Anyone who desires to find the right way will. Seek and you shall find.
