I can't ask my dad or grandparents because they have passed away and my aunt is looking for hers also. So there isn't anyone to ask. I would like to find a free site that would help me with this.

I live in NC and my great grandmother was full Cherokee thru research I found her to be named in the rolls at the tribal office in Cherokee, NC. My suggestion if you know what tribe she is from possibly contact the tribal office usually located on the reservation.

The response below from NC is the right answer! My mother's side has a roll number. I live in Ca. never considered myself to be Indian even though I'm an 1/8 Cherokee. I'd like to find out more about my mother's side of the family. As a young boy visiting my grandparents in Tenn., I can remember a local tv program coming to my grandfather's house and doing a program on him and all his artifacts. He was related to one of the Chief's. (I would guess I am too).
