Aside from the fact that perfection doesn't exist...if you "settle" for someone then they are not perfect/ideal (match for you). When you settle you are accepting that this person falls short in one or many areas of your idea of an ideal partner for you, but that you either don't think you will ever meet such a person, don't think you are deserving of such a person, or are tired of looking for such a person...so this one (that you are settling for) will do.

NOT flattering at all, if you are the person being settled for.

My 2nd marriage was a settle. I was amost 30, overweight, insecure, and though he may be my 'last chance'. I was an idiot. I did learn something very valuable though...that we don't need a partner to be happy, and that being single is preferable to being in a relationship and being unhappy.

I've been single ever since.

Are you saying you are not in love? You need to ask yourself why you don't feel a real connection with this person. Do they love you? Do they show this love in an appropriate way?

I feel my husband settled, he never does anything fun with me except fishing . It realy hurts to feel this way. I may have known it but being afraid of being alone I settled too.

Ahhh life is too short to settle for less than you want need or deserve. move on. Perfect for someone else maybe not perfect for you. move on.
