Contrary to popular belief, loading yourself up with calories from French fries and milkshakes is not the healthiest way to gain weight.
Try eating more frequently throughout the day so your small appetite won't be a barrier. Aim for 500-600 calories per mini-meal, and eat about six of those per day (although you need to work out the calorie amount for yourself, you certainly know what your metabolism and dietary needs are). Overall, just try to add between 500 and 700 calories per day to gain about a pound per week. I know, it doesn't sound like much, but putting on a whole lot more than two isn't especially healthy.
Some of the easiest ways to get those extra calories are by meal replacement drinks, health shakes, or by simply adding some healthy fats into your diet (i.e. peanut butter, olive oil) so that you can get a significant amount of calories without having to eat to the point of making yourself feel bloated.
Finally, just listen to your body. It tends to know best. As you start to eat more, your appetite may increase a bit, too, making the whole process quicker, easier, and more comfortable.

Hope this helped, and good luck! You have no idea how many people would love to have this problem! =)

Here are some of the things we fed my son to help him gain some weight after he lost weight on a medication.

Avocado – one of the top 5 nutritionally dense foods and high in “good” fat. My son will eat it plain, but you can mix it with mayo to make a sandwich spread or make a dip, like guacamole, from it.

Whole milk yogurt – Stoneyfield Farms and Horizon both make a whole milk yogurt. I use this to make him smoothies. I also switched him to whole milk.

Flax seed. I mix some into baked goods and into his smoothies.

Peanut or other nuts butters. Nuts.

I always give my son fish oil because it’s good for the brain and helps attention and mood (I take it too!). Right now I’m just giving him a capsule, but when I was really trying to get the weight on him, I gave him this: http://www.iherb.com/store/ProductDetails.aspx?c=Herbs&pid=HFS-05097 It’s got 14 grams of fat in one Tbs (a serving size)! I usually added it to his smoothie.

I added a Tbs. of olive oil to his plate of pasta or whatever.

I added Carnation mix to his milk at breakfast to add extra calories and the vitamins didn’t hurt. I did try some other shake mixes, but this was the only one he really liked. We even tried Ensure and Pediasure but he couldn’t stand the taste.

Try to look for nutrient dense foods and "good fats". Eat frequent small meals since your appetite doesn't allow for a large meal. A smoothie int he afternoon is a great way to get some good calories in you. Whole milk yogurt, a banana (also nutritionally dense) some fish oil or flax seed, a little juice, and any fruits you like! I often use frozen berries and then don't have to add additional ice.

good luck!

That depends, do you want to be 5' 5" and tub of lard? If not, eat a lot of protein AND exercise. Muscle weighs more than fat anyway, and will look a lot better on you. There are protein drink mixes that will help you get more protein in your diet. Also, eat lean meats.

Weight training helps a person build muscles and increase body weight. If you are a very active person, you should learn to relax, which will slow down your metabolic rate. Increasing the number of hours you sleep will also help you to gain weight. More information is available at http://www.toloseweight.org/gainweight.html

Try getting a bunch of dried fruit, nuts, banana chips, raisins and the like, and make a trail mix. Put them in bowls around the house, and bring them to work. Have some always in your car. Now practice the art of forced munching. Munch like you never munched before. When you eat, clear your plate, but remember to eat healthy.

Eat an American diet basically. If you want try lifting weights. Though it's harder for women to gain muscle mass, you might put on something and you'll look better in the process.

My reccommendation would to be eat "heavy things" (i.e. red meats, starches, carbohydrates, etc.) that are both not crunchy and not a bread substance (as this will expand in your stomach and fill you up faster). Hope that helps!

Eat foods with starch such as pasta and breads. When digested they turn to sugars.
