Ouch! That is serious! In Ontario, Careless is a Criminal code conviction and subject to a 100% surcharge on your insurance while Fail to remain is a major conviction and subject to an additional surcharge. You will likely be cancelled by your current insurer and will only be able to obtain insurance through the "facility association". While I don't know the circumstances why you received these two charges, I would certainly try to fight it through traffic ticket specialists (i.e. Pointts,
X-copper, etc.). Definitely worth it if you don't want to be paying high insurance premiums for the next three years until your history clears. Good luck....
