I do not have MS. However, I do have a first cousin that has it. He was diagnosed about 12 years ago. However, he continues to work his regular job, play on a softball team, and enjoy his life as he always did. He just takes his medication and goes to the MD regularly. In all honesty, if you did not know that he had it, you could not tell by looking at him. If you want me to get his e-mail address for you, I would be glad to. Just let me know. Good Luck.

My mom had MS most of her life. Everyone's path through MS is different. She found it was important to stay active without over-doing it, and keep a positive outlook. The positive outlook problem can be very difficult for some MS patients, as the disease commonly causes depression. My mom was prescribed antidepressants that seemed to make a big difference. Beyond that, not much else was effective. She just weathered the problems as they popped up and went on as best as possible.

We found the MS Society to be very helpful.
