Our troops need to be withdrawn from Iraq immediately. This war has killed and wounded 28,000 American servicepersons, and has bankrupted this country with a cost of almost half a trillion dollars to the American taxpayer. AFTER THIS WAR ENDS, WE NEED TO RE-ESTABLISH A SOVEREIGN NATION, WHERE WE MIND OUR OWN BUSINESS! THERE ARE TOO MANY PROBLEMS HERE IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA FOR THIS COUNTRY'S GOVERNMENT TO BE WORRYING ABOUT PEOPLE HALF A WORLD AWAY!

Seeing that it is an unjust war started by sociopaths for a particular purpose, which is to benefit the rich and the Zionists, I think the soldiers and their families would be very happy to to see this crime stooped. Immediately. Unconditionally.
It is so easy to say send the troops in but only when the troops don't have a son, a husband, a father or a lover.
And when they come back they will never be a 'normal' part of the population again. Once you have experienced the horrors of war it is impossible to forget.

Of course the troops will return home -- no one is planning on keeping them there forever.

The question that most people are faced with is "when." Everyone in the government is planning on returning the troops but most are trying to get them back as soon as their need in Iraq is over.

Bringing them home too soon, especially if the situation there is still very questionable, would hurt America in many ways. We have a job to do in Iraq and we are still working at it.

Would you want a carpenter who is fixing the roof on your house to quit before he has finished the job?

The terrorists are spending loads of money trying to influence the American People against staying in Iraq. A lot of [people have been sucked in by their programs,..but not all.

You have to decide for yourself who you want to believe,..your government or the terrorists.

If we withdraw now and leave Iraq defendless - Iraq will fall and terrorists will rise! So we may have few more years of peace. When terrorists recover, our children will go for another war! Why won't us finish the job now - establish a strong Iraq so that terrorist's activities will be limited in some account. More than that our military reputation will be restored and terrorist will know that we will fight them as long as we can if they dare to attack us again!

Everybody seems war-weary, but it seems the administration's position has been to train up the Iraqis and turn things over to them, and we see more and more Iraqi units able to operate. Also, critics all seem to date things to Sep 2001 while simultaneously using the criticism that there's no link, but the Iraqi government has actually only been in place a year. As one who was less than thrilled with the start of the war, I'm really amazed there's so little thought in so many of the anti-war groups.

I think you should learn a little more about the situation instead of forming an opinon based a few facts.

The reason Afghanistan was such a mess, is because American forces helped remove the previous dictator and didn't want Russia to control it, so the power was laid sweetly in the Taliban's hands. They in turn produced the world's worst terrorists, not to mention committed serious crimes against humanity. Guess what? Same thing is happing in Iraq. We removed the dictator, and to insure that another "Taliban" type of government does not take over, we are doing our best to back the new government while they get their own troops secured and trained.

Why is that so hard for everyone to understand?

The war in Iraq CANNOT be won. Bring the troops home before any more die needlessly. Let the Iraqis decide their own fate.

Yes and most of them will, in due time. Don't hurry the mission, unless you expect failure. Oh, that's right - most people who want the troops home now don't believe success is possible. We should tuck our tails between our legs, go hide at home, and wait for the next attack on American interests before we're justified in defending ourselves.

osama did such a beautiful trap it is not even funny, they dont want to leave because they want to pump oil but they cant stay because they are dying (by the way the US military is lying about the number of deaths)

in the end though if they dont leave asap they will have a horrid civil war and turn iraq into a palestine

They should leave Iraq, but then a platoon should be dispatched specifically to find Bin Laden. If a platoon can't do it, he's dead and we've been p***ing in the wind all this time. Also, to jennanderton, "Peace is restored?" there hasn't been a sustained period of peace in the Middle East in thousands of years, and that had to do with them, not us.
