Yes,,, There are several pay websites you can check into.
I however, would check inmate records "FREE". It's silly to pay for public information.
Almost every state has free inmate locators "online" and all federal prisoners are available online.
If you believe the person is in Federal Prison go to - www.bop.gov/inmate_locator/index.jsp - and simply search for them - each of the state sites are easy too.
If you're looking for a specific state inmate post another question and I'll try to find the right sites for the states you are interested at looking in.
