Christians believe that "God" was, is, and always will be. WE could say the same about the universe. Is it possible that christians could be refering the universe when they use the word "God"

The universe is creation, not the Creator. The universe has not always been, nor will it always be. The same can not be said for God, who exists outside the restrictions of space and time, created space and time in fact, and therefore is not subject to them. Part of God's perfect plan was the creation of an IMperfect universe. Because creation is imperfect, God (the personification of perfection) can not be part of it. He is restricted only by His own definitions.

I have thought of that same very question. I think that God is certainly something that is outside of space and time, but the truth is that I don't know. I think that the spirit of God fills every part of the universe including its life.

No, because the universe is God's creation...it didn't always exist. It's hard for anyone to wrap their head around, that's true...but God created the universe.

No. God created man in his own image. The last time I looked in the mirror, I didn't look like the universe. Hang in there partner, some day you will seek the truth too!

No, when they say God, they mean GOD the one and only true God!! Forget about all the God's that came before him, he is the real one!! Because the Bible tells them so!!

no, you can't really say the same about the universe. if you think about it, well, never mind, the issue of the creation of the universe (scientific, not christian) is wayyyy too deep for anyone but stephen hawking.
