I'm going to italy in the fall and I want to obviously bring my camera around to all the sites and places. Should i just bring a small purse to put over my shoulder just for my camera and maybe other stuff??I might put some other odds and ends but not much money. I've heard of a lot of crime down there.. Any answers are appreciated!!

how about waiting til you get to italy and buy a backpack or bag like the italians are using. that way you wont stand out so much. crime is not a major problem, rome is no worse than any other city.

if you are very worried, maybe get a money belt to wear under your clothes - depending on your size - i cant wear them - they stick out too much!

if you are there in the fall you'll prob end up carrying more than you think - umbrella, rain jacket......
