I think it's like 23,000/ year.. bt even if it were more, it's not worth it. People go into the army and navy and they don't get jobs later or even worse.. have to go to war.
If you decide to enroll in anything, try the coast gaurds.. they make more money than army, navy and marines and i do not think they go to war..

The pay is based on rank and time in service. Each branch is paid the same based on that information. If you want to look at a paychart, go to www.military.com and look under benefits for a paychart. Beside basic pay there are other pays you are entitled to based on job, such as nukes in the Navy or EOD, senior ranking, special pays, like submarine pay, and special jobs like SEALS or Rangers.

good question! the basic pay is published in a table and goes according to rank and time in service. On top of that, you get a tax-free housing allowance that's enough to house you and your dependents plus pay utilities, a tax-free subsistence allowance that will be enough for your family's grocery bills, a tax-free annual clothing replacement allowance, free or cheap health care, tax free shopping on-base, subsidized life insurance, tuition assistance and 30 days paid vacation starting your first year.

On top of that, there are different kinds of extra pay like sea pay, hazardous duty pay, flight pay and others for those who perform certain duties.

An Army Sergeant, married, after 4 years of service makes about $44K per year.

The basic pay is the same regardless of your branch of service. I have included a Adobe pdf file that list all military pay. You can made additional pay depending on your additional status, i.e. jump status, hazardous duty pay, hardship pay. Part of those differentiate depending upon location. Other factors also come into play, such as you residence or duty location. This chart will at least give you a start.

it depends on what job field you choose to go into. also what rank etc. also changes if you live on base or off base. the best way to find out is go talk to a recruiter and discuss all of these issues with them

No matter what it is, it's never enough. But we do it anyway
because it isn't about the money.

For some it is a matter of Honor. for others, being a soldier
isn't what they do it's who they are.
