The best way would be to not pass notes at all, or use text messaging on a cell phone. If you have to pass notes the old fashioned way, I always did the yawn, strech and pass routine. It seems stupid, but it works.

stick it inside a book, pen case, pen, emptied out glue stick, or some other inconspicuous item and pass it to them.

Pass in between class.

When the teacher turns your back, toss it or quickly pass it. Make sure the other person knows you are about to pass it or it doesn't really work and you get detention.

Or have an 80 year old teacher who is blind and deaf. Then you can just talk instead. :D

Stick the note inside a pen lid/cap and put the note back on the pen. Pass the pen to your friend and voila! your friend has a note and you have not been caught and given detention. This also works with one of those cylindrical sharpener things or a glue stick. Good luck with your note passing!

If its something you REALLY dont' want them to see, then don't pass them at all.

My friends and I used to always exchange notes in the hallway between classes.
