My one cat does this sometimes. Remember, cats tolerate people and love them but they are very close to are own attitudes. Some cats can be spiteful and jealous. I know my cat, Garnet, does this when I don't take her outside for a walk (Yes, a walk). She only does it when I forget to do something with her that I set up for her as routine. If it's not something that is bothering your feline, it may just be that she's playing or simply looking for your attention at the wrong time. Most of the time however, cats will annoy us either out of love or simply out of spite and a lesson to us as to not do something they didn't quite like.

Your head rolls back and forth while sleeping. cats enjoy play and thats what its after. Also most likely this wakes you up and you give, good or bad, attention to the cat. Cats, being attention whores, through behaviorism learn this trick and wake you up when ever they need a little pick-me-up of attention.

Cats have no respect for human beings, they tolerate us because we are bigger than they are... Remember in Egypt they were considered gods and they have never forgot. If your not paying attention to them they will make sure you do by running across your pillow so you can acknowledge their presence ;-)

There smart. I use to annoy my cat when he was sleeping. As soon as I fell asleep, he would do the same to me.

They are trying to get your attention they are uncomfortable with with you at this time because you should be awake and they hear the noise of sleeping and it instinctively makes them nervous.

They want you to wake up and give you some attention, because they are nocturnal.
