I will feel fine with it . When they get a certain age they do as they please . Just be understanding and stay by his side cause he will need you when he needs someone to talk to . Just don't ever tell him you think the guy is to old for him , let him be happy !

I wouldn't think anything of it. Nobody would think that an 18 year old girl dating a 24 year old guy is weird, why should it matter if its two guys? I would say good for your son if he's in a happy and loving relationship. Age shouldn't matter!

If it was an 18 yr old girl and a 24 yr old guy, people wouldn't tend to bat an eye. If your son prefers males then that's what he prefers. Being gay isn't a choice. He can choose not to act on his attractions, but that would mean a life alone or living an unhappy lie (being with a woman).
What would you prefer he do? If it were me, I'd be fine with it. No reason not to be...although I would be concerned for the prejudice he will encounter and dealings with small- and close- minded people.

Well they are both of age. So i guess i wouldn't have a problem with it. My brother-in-law is gay and we love him no matter who he is with. I also have a friend that just got married not long ago to her partner. They have been together along time. Gay Marrage is legal in Canada now so they tied the knot lol.
As long as he's happy and him partner is happy
and treating him good. Be happy for them because it is hard enough being gay today without your parents giving you grief over if. Marten's mom disowned him when she found out. He is still welcome in my home but boy
is hard around the holidays lol
Hope this helps a little.

Well...six years can be a big difference. But since he is out on his own for the first time, he may feel that he needs someone more experienced. Before long he will probably start dating people his own age again.

At first i would be devastated because that is not one of the paths that i ever thought he would chosen...then i would think of how much i love him and have since the first time i saw him and would sit down and be honest with him that i dont understand this choice that he has made and i am uncomfortable with it ....but maybe as time progresses i will understand it more but no matter what i love him and want to be a full part of his life...

I could live with it. The fact that your son is gay does not change that he is still your son. Love him and if you are having problems adjust, there are support groups for your situation here is a national website where you can find a chapter in your area:

You don't have to agree with his decision. You don't have to like it.
He is your son and if you don't want to drive him away ; you tell him the truth. You don't agree with him; but you love him and you will always be there for him.
Heart ache is part of loving someone and allowing them to grow and to learn. True love is to be there to hold them and love them when they fail.

I would be devastated that he was gay first of all. But I would get over it. The age wouldn't bother me at all. Its only 6 years and he is near adult age.

Its hard to say how I would feel unless I was in that situation,but... I would definitely be there for him whenever he needs to talk or if there is a problem. And I would let him know that.
