Download this little software from Microsoft. It will tell you what software installed will run or not if you upgrade to vista :

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Vista has a LOT of problems at the moment with compatibility and stability issues. If you are happy with your current setup, then LEAVE IT WELL ALONE.
Vista may have the hype, but you are likely to be tearing your hair out waiting for the next patch. My advice:
Stay with what you have until at least the first Vista Service Pack is released

Yes, if you mean you're going to re-install stuff on your Windows XP onto your Windows Vista unless your XP is Windows Vista compatible.
