GWB was forging the image by which his presidency would be known. He wants to be remembered as a great world leader and bringing democracy to the middle east would surely cause him to be remembered. Iraq was also unfinished business of his father and a thorn in the Bush family side. it had nothing to do with 9/11 except for the stories GWB told and the intelligence he demanded on Iraq's connection to the twin towers falling. So why did he send troops, I only see self-serving reasoning and the 3,100 lost American lives are little more than GWB's pavement into history to him. I used to be proud of this nation and I hope to be again one day but as long as a man is at the helm of this government who cares so little for those that are buying his way into history I can not be.

He didn't have to send troops at all. It was the greatest military blunder ever and with Democraits in power they will withdraw and cause I bigger disaster yet. The best would have been to never went to war but now since they are there they will have to stay otherwise the situation will be really bad with another Islamic Republic.
